Pamela Mann is a specialist plus-size hosiery brand, manufacturing all tights in Italy. Unlike clothing sizing (which is based on chest, waist and hip), tights are sized by a combination of your height and dress size — because tights need to reach the right length as well as fit around your body. The tables below cover both the main curvy/plus-size range (XL–5XL) and the One Size styles on our site.

How to find your tights size

Find your dress size (IRL/UK size) in the table below.
Check your height — most Pamela Mann curvy tights cover 5'0″–5'10″ (152–178cm) within each size. If you're at the taller end, consider sizing up for extra length.
If your measurements are at the higher end of a size range, size up for a more comfortable fit — Pamela Mann recommends this directly.

One Size styles

Some Pamela Mann styles on our site are listed as "One Size." These are standard-sized tights (not the curvy/plus range) designed for women of average height and dress size approximately IRL/UK 10–16. They are made from highly stretchy nylon or elastane and can accommodate a range of body sizes, but are not designed with the specialist plus-size features of the XL–5XL range below. If you're a UK 16 or above, the curvy XL–5XL range above will give a much better fit.

What makes the Pamela Mann curvy range different?

The XL–5XL range (labelled "Curvy Super Stretch" on Pamela Mann's own site) includes specialist features not found in standard-sized tights:

Deeper body rise — the tights sit higher on the waist for a more comfortable, secure fit
Wider thigh fit — knitted to the required size rather than stretched, so no uncomfortable panels or back seam

A UK 18 falls in the 2XL size in Pamela Mann's curvy range. If you're at the fuller end of an 18 or between an 18 and a 20, 3XL will give you more comfort.

What's the difference between the curvy tights (XL–5XL) and the One Size tights?
The curvy XL–5XL range is specifically engineered for plus-size bodies, with a deeper rise, wider thigh and no uncomfortable back panel. One Size styles are standard tights that stretch to fit multiple sizes — they're not designed for fuller figures and will generally not be as comfortable or as well-fitting as the curvy range for anyone over a UK 16.

Do Pamela Mann tights ladder easily?
Pamela Mann tights are made in Italy from high-quality nylon and elastane and are known for their durability. For the best longevity, hand wash in cool water or use a delicates bag in the machine, and store loosely rather than bunched up.

How should I care for Pamela Mann tights?
Wash at 30 degrees with a gentle detergent, or hand wash in cool water. Do not tumble dry. The curvy super stretch range is particularly recommended for hand-wash to retain its shape and stretch properties.
