Only Carmakoma is sized in EU sizes 42–54, designed specifically for fuller figures from the ground up — not scaled up from standard sizing. Most styles use individual EU sizes (42, 44, 46...), though some relaxed-fit styles group two sizes together (42/44, 46/48...) and some knitwear and leggings use S/M/L/XL. The tables below cover all three.

How to measure yourself

  1. Chest: measure at the fullest part of the chest, tape horizontal and close to the body, just under the arms.
  2. Waist: measure at the narrowest point of your natural waist, above the navel. Keep the tape snug but not tight.
  3. Hip: measure horizontally around the widest point of your hips.
  4. If you're between two sizes, size up — especially for jeans and fitted styles, which can run slightly small in the waist.

Which size label will I see?

  • Jeans, trousers, dresses, jackets and blazers use individual EU sizes (42, 44, 46...)
  • Some relaxed-fit styles (wide-leg trousers, casual co-ords, some shorts) group two sizes: 42/44, 46/48, 50/52.
  • Knitwear and leggings use S/M/L/XL. The letter-to-EU conversion is in the table above: S = EU 42–44, M = EU 46–48, L = EU 50–52, XL = EU 54.

Fit notes by category

  • Jeans and skinny styles: Only Carmakoma's own product descriptions note that skinny jeans can run slightly small in the waist — size up if you're between sizes. Stretch cotton mix means a size up will still give a close, flattering fit once the fabric relaxes.
  • Jackets and blazers: generally true to size. Chest measurement is the primary fit point, as jackets are cut with consistent ease through the hip and waist.
  • Dresses and tops: Only Carmakoma patterns these specifically for curvier figures, so hip and bust proportions are built in from the start rather than scaled up. Size to your chest for tops; for fitted dresses, check both chest and hip.
  • Leggings: stretch fabric and generally forgiving across the S/M/L/XL group. If you're at the larger end of a letter size, sizing up prevents the fabric from being overstretched and ensures the waistband sits comfortably.

Frequently asked questions

What size am I in Only Carmakoma if I'm IRL/UK 18?
A UK 18 is EU 46 in Only Carmakoma, with a chest of 113cm, waist of 98cm and hip of 119cm. If the style uses letter sizing, that's size M.

Do Only Carmakoma jeans run true to size?
They can run slightly small in the waist. Only Carmakoma's own product pages note this and recommend sizing up if you're between sizes. The stretch cotton mix means a size up will still give a close fit once the fabric relaxes.

Is Only Carmakoma designed for plus sizes or just scaled up?
Designed for plus sizes from the start. Only Carmakoma patterns its clothing for fuller figures with curves in mind, meaning the hip, waist and bust proportions are cut correctly for a curvier silhouette rather than simply added to a standard size base.

What's the difference between EU 42/44 grouped sizing and single EU 42?
A grouped 42/44 style is cut with a single fit designed to comfortably accommodate either size 42 or 44 body measurements, typically with more ease built in. A single EU 42 is a more fitted cut for a size 42 body specifically. If you're a size 44, a single-EU-42 style may feel tighter than a 42/44 grouped style.

Does Only Carmakoma run the same as Vero Moda Curve?
Both brands use the same EU 42–54 scale and are part of the Bestseller group, so the size numbering is consistent. That said, individual garment proportions and ease differ by style and fabric — don't assume an exact cross-brand fit without checking measurements per style.
