Robell trousers are sized in EU sizing (32–56), based on body measurements rather than UK dress sizes. Use the chart below to find your size by measuring your bust, waist and hip- not by matching your usual UK size, since Robell's fit differs by style (see fit notes below).

How to measure yourself

  1. Bust: measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level.
  2. Waist: measure around your natural waistline (the narrowest point, usually just above your belly button).
  3. Hip: measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom.
  4. Keep one finger's width between the tape and your body- don't pull it tight.
  5. If you're between two sizes, check the style-specific fit notes below before choosing.

Fit notes by style — does Robell run small or large?

This is the part most size charts skip, and it's the part that actually prevents returns:

  • Marie and Bella styles run generous. These are designed for a fuller figure with more room through the hip. We recommend sizing down in Marie and Bella, except in trousers with a high cotton content, where your usual size is correct.
  • Rose style runs slim. This is a slim/skinny fit through the thigh and ankle. We recommend sizing up if you'd normally take your usual size in Marie or Bella.
  • All other Robell styles (Nena, Jacklyn, and most others not listed above): take your usual/measured size.
  • Stretch bengaline fabric (used across most Robell styles) has more give than cotton or denim — if you're between two sizes in a bengaline style, the smaller size will usually still be comfortable.

Frequently asked questions

Does Robell run true to size?
Most Robell styles run true to size when you measure yourself and match the chart above. The exceptions are the Marie and Bella styles, which run generously and are usually best sized down, and the Rose style, which is slim-fit and usually best sized up.

What size am I in Robell if I'm a UK 16?
A UK size 16 corresponds to EU size 42 in Robell's sizing, with a waist of 84–88 cm and hip of 104–107cm. If choosing between the Marie or Bella style, consider sizing down to a 40 unless the fabric has a high cotton content.

Are Robell trousers true to UK sizing?
No — Robell uses EU sizing (32–56), which doesn't map one-to-one with UK dress sizes. Always check your body measurements against the cm chart above rather than assuming your usual UK size.

What's the difference between Robell's Marie and Bella trousers?
Both are straight-fit and recommended for a fuller figure. Marie has no pockets and minimal detailing; Bella has two back pockets, faux front pockets, and a double-stitched back seam. Both typically run generous, so sizing down is recommended.

Do Robell trousers have stretch?
Yes — most styles use Robell's stretch bengaline fabric, which moves with you and gives a more forgiving fit than non-stretch cotton or denim equivalents in the same size.

What if I'm between two sizes?
Check the fit note for the specific style first. In stretch bengaline styles (Marie, Bella), size down. In the slim-fit Rose style, size up. In all other styles, choose based on your measured size, erring up if your measurement sits exactly between two ranges.
