Gabor is a German footwear brand founded in 1949, known for exceptional comfort and precise fit. All Gabor shoes use EU sizing, and most styles are available in standard width or G (wide fit) and H (extra wide fit) — using Gabor's own German letter system, which is different from the UK E/EE/EEE system you may be used to.

How to measure your foot

Sit on a chair and place a sheet of paper on the floor in front of you.
Place your larger foot flat on the paper with your weight on it.
Trace around the outline of your toes and heel with a pen.
Measure the distance between the lowest and highest points in cm with a ruler.
Add 0.4cm to your measurement — this is the space your foot needs when rolling as you walk.

Width fittings

Gabor uses German letter codes for width — not the UK E/EE/EEE system. Here's how they compare:

To measure your foot width, use a tape measure around the widest part of your foot, which is usually just below your toes. Choose a shoe slightly wider than your measurement for comfort.

Fit notes

True to size: Gabor shoes generally fit true to size in length with no break-in period required.
Wide or standard? If you've previously needed a wide fit (EE or EEE) from other brands, look for Gabor styles marked G or H. Standard Gabor styles will be too narrow for wider feet.
Boots — calf width: Gabor boots are available in shaft widths from XS to XL. If you're buying knee-high or calf boots, measure the circumference of your calf at its widest point to ensure the shaft fits comfortably as well as the foot.

Yes — Gabor shoes are known for running true to size in length with no significant break-in period. Use your measured foot length (plus 0.4cm) matched against the chart above for the most accurate result.

What is the difference between G and H width in Gabor?
G is wide fit (equivalent to UK EE), H is extra wide fit (equivalent to UK EEE). Both have a broader and deeper toe section and more room around the instep than a standard-fit Gabor shoe. If you're currently wearing EE shoes from another brand, look for G in Gabor; if EEE, look for H.

My usual UK size 6 feels tight in Gabor — what should I do?
If the length is fine but the shoe feels tight across the width, the issue is the fitting rather than the size. Try the same size in a G (wide) or H (extra wide) fitting rather than going up a whole size, since sizing up will give more room in length but may not solve a width issue.

How do I measure my calf for Gabor boots?
Use a tape measure around the widest point of your calf. Gabor boot shafts range from XS (narrow) through to XL (extra wide), so it's worth checking calf measurements for knee-high styles in particular, as the shaft fit is as important as the shoe fit.
